Prof. Jogin Thakore MB BCh BAO BA PhD FRCPI MRCPsych
Prof. Thakore is engaged in Medico-Legal practice providing Independent Psychiatric Opinions and acting as an Expert Witness on behalf of the Law Firms, Insurance Companies and State Bodies.
Prof. Thakore was a HSE Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry in St. Vincent’s Hospital Fairview and the Marino Clontarf Community Mental Health Team from January 1999 to March 2019. As such, he looked after both inpatients and outpatients with psychiatric illnesses. Prof. Thakore was Clinical Lead for the Early Intervention in Psychosis Programme for Dublin North Central (HSE). Prof. Thakore was Clinical Director for Dublin North Central from April 2007 to October 2010.
Prof. Thakore is a Professor of Psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin and an Honorary Lecturer in Psychiatry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Having graduated from TCD with an MB BCh BAO BA, Prof. Thakore started his Psychiatric training with the St. Patrick’s Postgraduate Training Scheme. After this Prof. Thakore went to London and worked in St. Bartholomew's Hospital, where he was awarded his Psychiatric Membership (MRCPsych) and a PhD in Psychiatry from the University of London. Prof. Thakore was then appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at St. Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. On returning to Ireland, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (FRCPI).
